President Ghani added the Afghan government is willing and committed to end the war and ensure peace in the country, calling on the Taliban to prove its wills for peace too.
As foreign troops are leaving the country, President Ghani said there is no excuse for the Taliban to continue hostility.
He urged the elders to put pressure on the group to participate in the Jirga.
The President’s remarks comes as negotiation teams of the Afghan government and the Taliban on Friday resumed their meetings after a long time in Doha, Qatar.
Both agreed to restart peace talks after Eid.
