Roadside Bomb Injures One in E. Afghanistan

One was injured after a car hit a roadside bomb in Ahmad Abad district of Paktia province Wednesday evening, said police spokesman Mohammad Lal Amiri.

Afghan civilians continue to bear the brunt of the violence across the country.

Elsewhere, the spokesman added the Taliban had attacked security outposts in Jan Khel district of the province.

There was no casualties inflected to Afghan forces, according to the spokesman, but two of the fighters were killed in the fight.

There was no immediate comment from the Taliban.
