Arif Jalali, head of Herat regional hospital, said four wounded people, including a child and a woman, were rushed to hospital.
Ahad Walizada, spokesman for the provincial police said the bomb attack struck in Tank-e- Markaz area near a police vehicle.
According to the spokesman, one person was wounded.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
The Afghan government constantly blames Taliban to be responsible for similar incidents.
