Provincial officials have said, without releasing details of causalities, that several explosions have taken place near gas utility companies in Kamar Kalagh, an area in the outskirts of provincial capital of Herat city.
Ambulances were dispatched, according to the source.
The provincial governor, Sayed Wahid Qitali, said Afghan forces and fire fighters were at the scene trying to extinguish the fire.
There were no details of casualties or material damages yet.
According to reports, however, so far four tanker trucks have exploded.
It follows Herat’s massive fire on February 13 which inflicted millions of dollars financial loss.
