The “02” Unit of the provincial National Security Directorate of eastern Nangarhar province said in a statement that its forces have arrested a member of the IS/Daesh group during an overnight operation.
The arrested man, named Shah Mahmoud, was responsible for Pachiragam district of the province, according to the statement.
He was also the plotter of an IS’ group responsible for targeted killings, it read.
The statement further announced the arrest of two other suspects along with Shah Mahmoud belonging to the Islamic State group.
The group has yet to comment to media.
