In a statement, Nangarhar’s provincial media outlets, said Afghan forces carried out an overnight attack on Taliban fighters in Nakarkhel area of Khogyani district.
According to the statement, at least nine militants were killed and another four injured.
Two Afghan soldiers were lightly wounded during the raid.
The Taliban officials have yet to comment.
