In a statement released Thursday, the Afghan Ministry of Defense said late on Wednesday evening, an army chopper of Black Hawk type made an emergency landing in Nahr-e Siraj district of southern Helmand province.
According to the statement, it landed due to technical snags, killing two policemen and a member of the Afghan National Army.
An investigation into the causes of the landing was underway, it said.
The Taliban earlier claimed it had brought down the helicopter, killing four military personnel, a claim the ministry denied.
