Afghan forces have launched air and ground attacks on Taliban insurgents in Arghandab, Zhari, Panjwai and Spin Boldak districts of southern Kandahar province, read the ministry’s statement on Wednesday.
As many as 34 Taliban militants have been killed and another nine wounded in the raids.
The ministry said in another statement that a weapons cache belonging to the militants was found and demolished in northern Kunduz province.
The Taliban have not commented yet.
