Shamsuddin Jami, a medical doctor in Afghanistan’s western Herat province, who was abducted two days ago was set free after security forces carried out a targeted rescue operation in Kohsan district of the province, police statement read.
Three arrests were made in relation to the matter, the statement added.
The suspects were under police questioning.
