In a statement released Wednesday, the Ministry of Information and Culture said that Gul Zaman, Afghan prominent singer, was declared as “Father of Pashto Music” and Safdar Tawakuli as “Master of Dambora”, a musical instrument.
The Afghan singers received the titles at a ceremony held on this occasion by the Ministry of Information and Culture.
Tahir Zuhair, caretaker of the ministry said that the Afghan Ministry of Information and Culture supports singers who keep people happy.
According to the statement, prior to this, Zahir Bakhtari, Ghulam Farid Ahmadi, Saman Gul, Abdul Majid Sepand, Tela Mohammad Takhari and a number of other singers were also awarded with titles and medals.
