Herat governor Sayed Wahid Qitali confirmed the attack, claiming the Taliban have suffered casualties.
A security source in Afghanistan’s western province of Herat, however, said that late last night the car bomb attack targeted security outposts in Kohsan district of the province.
As many as six Public Uprising Forces were killed and another seven wounded in the explosion, according to the source.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
