One Killed in Explosion in Afghanistan’s Capital

Two explosions rocked Afghan capital of Kabul on Thursday, security officials confirmed.

The first explosion targeted a police vehicle near Sarai Jali area in Kabul’s tenth district at 8:07am local time, said provincial police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz. 

No one was hurt in the explosion, according to the spokesman.

It was followed by another explosion which targeted a corolla-type car near Ali Abad hospital in the third district of the city, the spokesman said.

The second explosion took place around 11:25am local time, killing one person. 

Mr. Faramarz added that the incident was under police investigation. 

Sources have said that Mubashir Muslimyar, an instructor at Faculty of Islamic Law at Kabul University, was killed in today’s explosion in the third district of Kabul. 

Security officials have yet to confirm his death.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack
