Afghan commando forces on Wednesday night set free at least 24 prisoners, including 23 military personnel and one civilian, who were held in a Taliban custody in the Afghan northern province of Kunduz, read the ministry’s statement.
There were 16 army soldiers, two policemen, four members of the commando forces, one member of the national security forces and one civilian among the released prisoners.
On Tuesday night, as many as 42 prisoners were rescued from the Taliban custody in northern Baghlan province.
The released prisoners included 25 military personnel and 17 civilians, who were held in a Taliban jail in Central Baghlan district of the province.
The Taliban officials have not commented yet.
