Afghanistan Registers 22 COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 22 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 55,540.

As many as 22 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, the health ministry shared the data on Tuesday.

The country recorded no COVID-19 death during the same period. The toll stood at 2,428.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul, Nangarhar, Badakhshan, Faryab, Kapisa, Urozgan and Laghman provinces.

Also, 81 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 48,514.

Worldwide, 2,512,936 have died from the deadly disease and the infection toll surpassed 109.2 million since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
