In a statement released Monday, Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs said minister Atmar welcomed the U.S. decision to review the Doha deal signed between the United States and the Taliban late on February last year, calling it a good step toward strengthening the peace process.
He praised the U.S. efforts for ending the impasse through negotiations.
American senior diplomat in Kabul reaffirmed his country’s support for the peace process and assured Washington’s long term cooperation with the country.
It comes as dozens, including civilians, lose the battle for their lives as a result of the ongoing violence in the country already hit by decades-long war.
