A mortar round fired by Afghan National Army (ANA) forces hit Nawa district, Attaullah Afghan, head of the provincial council spoke to TKG.
Another child, four-year-old, was wounded in the attack, according Mr. Afghan.
Children who were killed were each six- and seven-year-old.
Afghan Ministry of Defense and local officials in the province have not commented yet.
According to the data provided by head of the provincial council, at least 35 civilians were killed and 22 others wounded in Nawa district during clashes which took place between government forces and Taliban insurgents over the past two months.
