Two of the Taliban explosive-loaded vehicles went off on the militants themselves around 9:30 last night in Dawlat Abad district of Balkh province, said Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior.
At least 22 Taliban were killed and eight others wounded in the explosions, the spokesman added.
It followed a bomb attack on Saturday morning which took place inside a mosque, killing as many as 30 militants, including from foreign countries.
The Taliban have not commented yet.
