Afghanistan Registers 34 New COVID-19 Infections

Afghanistan recorded 34 more coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours, pushing its nationwide case count to 55,265.

As many as 34 people were tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry on Thursday, adding the country recorded no COVID-19 death during the same period.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Parwan, Kunduz, Laghman and Kunar provinces.

Also, 13 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 47,995.

At least 1,859 tests were carried out during the past 24 hours-period.

Worldwide, 2,267,646 have died from the deadly disease and over 104.4 million more have been infected since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
