Out of a total 1,729 suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 57 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Wednesday.
The country lost one COVID-19 patient during the same period.
The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Herat, Balkh, Kandahar, Nangarhar, Takhar, Kunduz, Paktia, Badakhshan, Badghis, Nimroz, Helmand, Laghman, Farah and Khost provinces.
The total deaths related to the disease has hit 2,407, according to ministry’s figures.
Also, 184 patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 47,982.
