The explosion took place around 8:00am [Afghanistan time], in Tangi Tarakhel area, near the fifteenth district of the capital, according to police spokesman Ferdaws Faramarz.
Another three police officers were wounded in the explosion, he added.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
On Tuesday too, four explosions rocked Kabul, leaving three people killed.
