Coronavirus: Afghanistan Reports 53 New Infections

Health ministry in Afghanistan on Tuesday (February 2) reported 53 new COVID-19 infections and one related death in the past 24 hours.

According to Afghan health ministry, at least one more patient have died after contracting the disease, pushing the toll of fatalities to 2,406.

Also, as many as 53 new cases of infection were reported in the country, bringing the nationwide case count to 55,174.

The new infection cases were registered in Kabul, Herat, Kandahar, Balkh, Nimroz Nangarhar, Maidan Wardak, Ghazni, Helmand, Paktika, Nuristan and Faryab provinces.

Some 47,798 patients have recovered from the virus since the outbreak first appeared in China entered the country.

At least 1,888 suspected cases were processed during the last 24-hour-period.
