No Death from COVID-19 in Afghanistan within Last 24 Hours

The coronavirus total infections hit 55,021 in Afghanistan after it recorded 13 new coronavirus cases over the last 24 hours.

Out of a total 840 suspected people contracting the novel coronavirus, 13 people tested positive for the coronavirus pandemic within the past 24 hours, said the health ministry Saturday.

The new cases of infection were registered in Kabul, Kandahar, Balkh, Paktia, Nimroz, Maidan Wardak, Paktika and Helmand provinces.

There was no reported death from COVID-19 during 24-hours period.

The total deaths stands at 2,400 since the outbreak first entered the country.

Also, three patients having been contracted with the COVID-19 disease have recovered over the past 24 hours, bringing the toll of coronavirus recoveries to 47,609.

Worldwide, at least 2,207,834 have died and the total infections topped 102 million since the start of an outbreak that first appeared in Wuhan, China, in early December.
