Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced at least 98 Afghan prisoners held in Saudi prisons were released and returned to home.
The ministry said in a statement on Saturday the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Jeddah helped the release of these prisoners.
They have been returned back to home country, according to the statement.
Since July last year, at least 2,164 Afghan citizens have been set free and returned to country.
