Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani arrived at Herat airport today morning where he was welcomed by local officials, influential figures and elders.
He is set to assess an overall situation of the province, his office said in a statement.
He is scheduled to meet local officials, elders, youths, women, influential and religious figures, civil society representatives, members of the provincial council and military officials.
President Ghani was accompanied by First Vice President Amrullah Saleh and other top government officials.
