Scores of fighters attacked on Baba Nazar area of Pul-e Khumri city, the capital city of Baghlan Monday around 12:30am, said police spokesman Jawed Besharat.
The attack was pushed back by government forces, according to the spokesman, and clashes erupted.
At least four militants were killed and two others wounded in the attack, he said.
The Taliban, however, claimed four government soldiers were killed and five more wounded in the attack.
