According to a statement the ministry released late Friday night, Afghan Air Forces targeted a Taliban check posts in Chahar Bolak district of northern Balkh province.
At least eight Taliban militants were killed and another 11 wounded in the airstrikes, read the statement.
A number of weapons and vehicles belonging to the armed group were also demolished during the raid.
There was no comment from the Taliban officials.
