Rocket Launch Attempt Thwarted in Northern Afghanistan

Attempts to fire two rounds of BM-21 on the capital of Pul-e Khumri were thwarted by government forces, the provincial police spokesman Jawed Besharat said.

The rockets were placed in Shamruq area of Pul-e Khumri, the provincial capital of Baghlan, to be later fired on the city, said the spokesman.

He urged people to help security forces hunt down terrorists and prevent terror attacks.

There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
