A security outpost near the house of Ahmad Saeedi, Afghan politician and university lecturer, came under armed attack Tuesday around 7:30pm, said Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Afghan Ministry of Interior.
The attack was carried out on a security outpost in Macoryan area, the ninth security district, near Mr. Saeedi‘ house, according to the spokesman, who added a policeman was wounded in the assault and investigations were underway.
In a voice clip, Mr. Saeedi himself said he noticed he was following by a suspected car. A nearby security outpost then came under attack followed by one of his men opening fire.
Mr. Saeedi said he was fine but a policeman was injured in the attack.
Police arrived at the scene shortly after the assault and began its investigations, according to him.
