Afghan Power Utility Company Announce Increase in Imported Power from Uzbekistan

The Afghan power utility company—Da Afghanistan Breshna Sherkat (DABS)—announced Monday the neighboring Uzbekistan has ramped up its electricity export to Afghanistan from 300 MW to 400 MW.

Afghan Power Utility Company Announce Increase in Imported Power from Uzbekistan

The company earlier Sunday said in a statement, the electricity imports to Afghanistan has been increased up to 300 megawatts and efforts were underway to provide more than 450 MW of electricity.

Power supply to Afghanistan had earlier been reduced to 169 MW due technical problems, causing countrywide outage.

Now the Afghan power utility company announced increase up to 400 MW.

The south Asian country has been enduring daily power cuts since past few days.

It imports electricity from the neighboring Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Iran.
