Speaking to TKG, Mohammad Karimi, deputy head of provincial council said a Humvee rigged with explosives detonated last night near a joint base of Afghan forces in Sofian Shahr area of Trinkot city, the capital of Urozgan.
At least three Afghan soldiers were killed and another three were wounded whose health conditions were reported critical.
A source in the government however said at least six soldiers were killed in the explosion.
There was no claim of responsibility for the attack.
There are reports that clashes have been ongoing between government and Taliban fighters since last night, claiming the both sides have suffered casualties.
