Wakil Ahmad, also known as Mullah Nazim, the Taliban shadow governor for northern Faryab province was killed as a result of internal conflict and the explosion of militant group’s own bomb last night in Dawlat Abad district of the province, said provincial police chief Ghaibullah Sadaat.
At least six other militants who were said to be Mullah Nazim’s bodyguards were also among the dead, according to government official.
Three other Taliban fighters were wounded in the explosion.
The group officials have yet to comment.
