Kohistani, survived by her husband and a child, was shot dead by unknown gunmen Thursday last week in her hometown in Kapisa.
Her brother was also killed in the attack.
Tariq Arian, spokesman for the Ministry of Interior, wrote on his Twitter that two suspects involved in the murder of Kohistani and her brother were arrested and investigations were underway.
He did not elaborate on details.
The murder follows a similar pattern witnessed in recent weeks, in which prominent Afghans have died in targeted killings and assassinations.
