The Afghan air force conducted air strikes on Taliban militants Thursday evening that killed at least nine insurgent fighters, Hanif Rezaiee, spokesman for 209th Shaheen army Corps said.
Mawlawi Hashim and Mawlawi Omar, who were said to be of the group leaders, were also among the dead, according to the source.
A Taliban’s base, many weapons and a number of vehicles were also damaged in the strike, the spokesman added.
There was report of casualties inflicted to civilians.
The Taliban officials have yet to comment.
