The total number of coronavirus cases in Afghanistan rose to 49,740 after 256 tested positive for the disease, said the Afghan Ministry of Public Health.
According to the ministry announcing the cases on Tuesday, as many as 256 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were detected in 17 provinces of the country.
The health ministry’s official data further indicated that with 26 new deaths during the same period, the country’s total COVID-19 deaths hit 2,001.
Another statistic also indicated a rise: as many as 38,500 patients have recovered after 90 patients have recently got better.
