A man who was said to have killed his mother and sister in western Herat province was arrested by police in the seventh district of the capital city, police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizadah said.
The suspect killed his family members two nights ago, the spokesman added.
The detectives have been questioning him.
According to the data provided by Herat Regional Hospital, at least 24 women have been killed in the province during the ongoing year.
