Afghanistan’s COVID-19 Cases Rise by 263

Afghanistan registered 263 cases of the novel coronavirus in the past 24 hours, according to its health ministry announcing the cases Wednesday.

The South-Asian country’s nationwide caseload was pushed to 46,980 as new people caught the disease.

The COVID-19 related deaths stood at 1,822 after 22 new patients contracting the illness died during the same period, a tally by the health ministry indicated.

Also, the number of COVID-19 recoveries hit 37,026 after 119 patients got better during the 24-hours period.

Worldwide, more than 63.8 million people have been reported infected with the coronavirus pandemic and a total of 1,480,516 have died, according to the Reuters’ coronavirus tracker.
