The Taliban political office announced negotiating teams from the group and the Afghan government had “completed” procedural rules of the intra-Afghan negotiations.
Mohammad Naeem Wardak, a spokesman for the Taliban political office in Qatar, said the code of conduct was finalized in November 15, and then in November 17, was read in the presence of the host country.
According to the Taliban spokesman, the procedural rules has 21 articles, and “a copy of it was handed over to the host/facilitator country” after approval by the negotiators of the two sides.
Government officials have yet to comment.
Negotiating teams have been meeting in the Qatari capital of Doha since September of the ongoing year, putting efforts for advancing the long-delayed Afghan peace talks.
