The total number of coronavirus cases in Afghanistan rose to 44,363 after 186 were tested positive for the disease, said the Afghan Ministry of Public Health.
According to the health ministry, announcing the cases on Friday, as many as 186 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 and 13 new deaths were registered within the last 24 hours.
The health ministry’s official further said that with 13 new deaths, the country’s total COVID-19 fatalities hit 1,663.
Another statistic also indicated a rise: as many as 34,370 patients have recovered after 31 patients got better.
Health authorities in Afghanistan earlier this week warned of a second wave of coronavirus as number of daily confirmed COVID-19 cases continues to surge.
It urged people to abide by measures taken to avoid a second wave of the virus.
