Tariq Arian, a spokesman for the ministry, said the armed group has carried out 53 suicide attacks and detonated 1,250 explosive devices during the six-months period.
As many as 2,500 civilians have been wounded in what the spokesman called “terrorist” attacks.
The Taliban have yet to comment.
