PM Imran Khan is set to visit Kabul during the coming week on the invitation of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani, said Gran Hewad, a spokesman for the ministry.
The items on the visit’s agenda will be bilateral security and economic and trade-related cooperation, political ties, and the Intra-Afghan peace talks in Doha, he said.
President Ghani earlier on September 25 invited Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan to pay an official visit to Kabul which was accepted by Khan.
His visit to Kabul comes as the already-delayed intra-Afghan peace negotiations have been stalled due to disputes over some controversial issues.
Negotiators from both the government and the Taliban have been meeting in Doha since September 12–still working out rules and procedures needed for the negotiations.
