Writing on his Facebook, VP Saleh said a person named Adel, who was a junior student at the Faculty of Sharia, and was then recruited by a former member of Haqqani Network, named Sanaullah, was the mastermind of a deadly attack on Kabul University early on November.
Adel, as the Vice President said, was originally from Panjshir province while his family lives in the Afghan capital Kabul.
The attack on Kabul University in Afghanistan’s capital on Monday, November 2, came as three gunmen stormed the university, opening fire at students.
The Afghan Ministry of Public Health confirmed at least 22 dead and 22 others wounded in the attack.
Many students were trapped inside the university and others fled and scrambled over the university walls, as footage published on social media showed.
The Islamic State in Afghanistan claimed responsibility for the attack at Kabul University—a second assault on an educational institution in just over a week following deadly attack on Kawsar-e Danish educational center at west of Kabul.
The Taliban meanwhile denied to be responsible for the attack.
Vice President Saleh, however, said the planners of Kabul University assault were members of Hizb-al-Tahrir, the Taliban, and Daesh/IS—using specific titles when necessary.
