Speaking to TKG, Atiqullah Wasiq, a spokesman for Herat’s police chief, said one of the employees of the provincial national security directorate was killed and another one wounded after unknown men attacked them Monday in Karokh district.
The perpetrators remained unidentified, according to the spokesman, but a probe into the incident had begun.
It comes as Afghanistan had a violent few days and has been gripped by a surge in terrorist attacks recently.
According to figures released by police chief’s office, at least eight terror attacks were carried out within the past one month.
