The South-Asian country’s nationwide caseload was pushed to 42,159 as new people caught the disease.
The COVID-19 related deaths stood at 1,562 after six new patients contracting the illness died during the same period, a tally by the health ministry indicated.
Also, the number of COVID-19 recoveries hit 34,458 after 12 patients got better during the 24-hours period.
Worldwide, 49.8 million people have been reported infected with the coronavirus pandemic and a total of 1,249,683 have died, according to the Reuters’ coronavirus tracker.
