A bomb placed at a security outpost in Afghanistan’s western Herat province went off today morning, November 1, leaving five killed or wounded.

Explosives placed at a security outpost belonging to government police forces in Herat’s Payan-Ab area detonated today morning around six o’clock, Afghanistan time, said police spokesman Abdul Ahad Walizada.

At least three policemen were killed and another two were wounded in the explosion, according to the spokesman.

Health officials in the province also confirmed three people were killed and two injured.

The blast was huge and, according to sources, has fully destroyed the outpost.

No insurgent group has so far claimed responsibility.
