According to Kandahar’s police spokesman, Jamal Nasir Barekzai, a policewoman was killed by an unidentified gunman in the ninth district of Kandahar city.
The gunman managed to flee the area, the source added.
Kandahar police spokesman, meanwhile, said investigations were ongoing to hold perpetrators.
No individual or armed group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
