People had gathered today morning, October 20, near the Pakistan consulate in Jalalabad city to secure visa for the neighboring country during which a stampede occurred, Zahir Adel, a spokesman for provincial hospital, confirmed to The Killid Group.
The residents had gathered to collect tokens needed for applying a visa to Pakistan, said the source.
Attaullah Khogyani, a spokesman for the provincial governor confirmed the incident to TKG, visa applicants had congregated to secure their token from the Pakistani consulate officials that the crowd led to a stampede, leaving a eleven women killed and ten others wounded.
The spokesman put the toll of casualties to 11 killed—all women. As many as ten more were wounded, according to him, adding two men were among the people injured.
