Taliban militants stormed a security outpost in Charkhab area of Kunduz city, triggering armed conflict with Afghan forces as they fended off the attack, said police spokesman Hijratullah Akbari.
At least four Taliban fighters were killed and two others wounded in clashes.
There were no casualties inflicted to government forces, according to the spokesman.
The Taliban officials didn’t comment, however, claimed their fighters have killed seven government forces in Ismail Qeshlaq of Imam Sahib district in the province.
