Taliban stormed a security outpost in western Ghor province, triggering hours-long clashes with government forces.

Scores of Taliban militants attacked the Kharestan security outpost in western Feroz Koh, said the governor’s spokesman Arif Aber, triggering clashes which lasted for four hours.

According to the spokesman, as many as eight Taliban fighters were killed and six others wounded during clashes with Afghan forces.

Four government forces were also wounded—as Mr. Aber briefed on toll of casualties.

It comes a day after a suicide car bombing killed at least 15 people and wounded around 151 others in the provincial capital of western Ghor province.

The governor’s spokesman said healthcare staff were treating people injuries but the a number of victims with serious wounds were taken to a hospital belonging to 207th  Zafar Army Corps and to Herat’s regional hospital.
