German Special Representative for Afghanistan, Markus Potzel, has met with Abdul Haq Wasiq, the Director of European Affairs at the Doha-Based Taliban Political Office, to discuss Afghan peace talks between the group and the Afghan government, spokesman Dr. Mohammad Naeem Wardak took to Twitter.
“This evening, Mulla Abdul Haq Wasiq, head of the European division from the political office of the IEA, and his delegation met with the special representative of Germany Mark Potzel, and the ambassador of Germany to Qatar and the accompanying panel in Doha,” the Taliban spokesman tweeted yesterday.
“…the ongoing process of Intra-Afghan negotiations was discussed in detail. Both sides expressed their optimism about the progress in Intra-Afghan negotiations,” he further added.
