Armed Taliban stormed Afghan forces’ outposts in Noorak area of Shah Joy district in southern Zabul province, said a spokesman for the provincial governor.
The attack was followed by a suicide bomber detonating an explosive-rigged vehicle in the area, Gul Islam Siyal, a provincial governor’s spokesman told TKG.
He put the toll of casualties to six wounded—all government forces.
An investigation into the incident was ongoing, according to the spokesman.
The government official blamed the Taliban to be responsible for the attack; the group, however, has yet to comment.
